EdgeConvert is a component for Community Server by Telligent (http://communityserver.com). Community Server is a dotnet social networking platform with lots of great features and scalability. One of the primary features is the Media module which lets users upload media files (photos, videos, etc.). The media files are uploaded in their source format and the person who tries to veiw the files must have a viewer/player that supports the source video format. This is in contrast to other video sharing websites such as YouTube which convert videos into Flash FLV format.
